Perinatal Counseling/ Postpartum anxiety and depression
Transition to motherhood can be challenging. We are passionate about supporting mothers and their families through some of the most complex, challenging, confusing transitions of life. It is terribly hard to deal with these challenging times, when society and maybe even you think you "should" feel nothing but ecstatic and happy. We get it, we have extensive experience working with the family dynamic and family systems and we are here to help. You are not alone!
Depression
Depression is painful, it can feel lonely and people often feel they are the only ones who can relate to what you are experiencing. Our extensive expertise in supporting and guiding treatment for depression has yielded successful outcomes for clients reaching their goals and feeling better.
Anxiety
Chances are you have been thinking about therapy...feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start or what is the best fit for you. We understand these complex feelings and want to make it as accessible as possible for you to consult with us to see if we are the right fit and hopefully provide treatment to help you feel differently.
Play Therapy
Play is a child's language. If you are a parent and you have noticed your child has some "Big Feels", you have had changes within your family, or just need a little extra guidance in support your child. Reach out to Maureen and see if play therapy is a good fit for you.
EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.
Life Stressors and Transitions
Change is bound to happen. It does not always mean we like it or have the capacity to manage feelings with change whether these are expected or unexpected changes. Even exciting change takes a toll on emotions. Having someone to walk along side you through the transitional times in your life can not only be supportive but also beneficial.
Therapy as Self-Care
Can't put your finger on an exact issue, but you feel like something is going on that would be helpful to talk about? Think about it...Why do we go to the doctor once a year when we are not feeling sick? Why do we get an oil change on our car before it breaks down? Problem solving often feels easier for a person when the problems are not at crisis level. Wouldn't it be nice to know you have a safe trusted relationship with a therapist in case you need it. We strongly encourage maintenance therapy.
CBT
The things we do and the thoughts we have profoundly effect how we feel. We have used this modality for the past 6 years with clients who have experienced severe depression, anxiety, trauma and life stressors. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) was created by Dr. Aaron Beck. Stevie, Maureen, and Jessica have had multiple training experiences with Dr. Beck at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia.
Parenting Strategy/Coaching Session
Not ready to take the step to engage in play therapy and feeling like your parenting game is not where you want it to be? Set up a virtual parenting strategy support session to help support you and your family. We will talk about what’s working and how you would like to see things look differently.
